Highlights of THE CRUISE - West Caribbean

We started in Tampa, Florida, where we embarked the Carnival Legend.  FYI - the Love Boat is all lies!!  The whole crew doesn't greet you as you board - in fact I never saw the captain (Captain Stubing must've been an anomoly).  The cruise director (aka Julie McCoy) did not welcome us aboard all smiles and information.  No cheesy Isaac to give you a cocktail and a funky dance.  Was there a doctor aboard even??  And who do you compare Gopher to?  After I got over that initial disappointment, though, I had a FABULOUS time!



Cabin 8-265 became my home for a week.  The slight rocking I felt on Deck 8 was like a gentle lullaby lulling me to sleep. (Just don't ask about the last day at sea - wasn't so gentle that day).

Didn't take us long to make it up to the pool on Deck 9 (the Lido Deck).  The pools all had salt water in them - that was unexpected.

Grand Cayman was the first port.  Seriously beautiful beaches - why did I come home again?  Went to Hell while I was there.  Check this out:

Cool, right??  I totally bought a t-shirt in Hell just so I could say that.  Ha ha ha!  So awesome!

Stop #2 was Cozumel, Mexico.  Was super fun talking to the locals in Spanish - got me a few discounts along the way.  Did an ATV Jungle Adventure in Cozumel ...

Look how muddy I ended up!  No - it's not a photo of my hairy legs - they were freshly shaven and covered in Mayan mud.  Soooooo much fun!



Next stop - Belize!!  The above photo is of the Xunantunich ruins - this was an all-day excursion and I actually climbed to the top of this temple "El Castillo."  Here are a few more photos of this incredible place:

It all went by so quickly!  I feel like I need to go back to each place and spend at least another day there. 

You can see I enjoyed the relaxing night at sea after Roatan.  The next and final day at sea was spent in the sun by the pool on the Lido Deck.  I wish I could have stayed there forever - soaking up the sun and not thinking about anything.  Did I mention that between all the adventures I managed to finish 3 novels??  Bliss.

Happenings in January ... hmmm ... in a word - LAME.  I'm not complaining that there wasn't much snow (none that stuck around) or that there wasn't much activity (I have an awesome boyfriend that I never see due to our crazy schedules).  It was just plain old LAME.  The 3 months of hellacious work towards a promotion didn't pan out was a bit disheartening to say the least.  Asi es la vida.  I spent the month training my new boss (awkward) and looking forward to a cruise in February - oh, and let's not forget all the hard work towards the Kind Kollars business.  The good news is that we are actually attending a trade show in Orlando, FL at the end of February.  That is thanks to my hard-working amigas that haven't given up on a dream we started working towards nearly 2 years ago.  Where does the time go?  And that is January in a nutshell - mostly just glad it's over.  Ha ha!

Halloween is definitely my favorite time of year.  I liked this party - I didn't have to dress up.

I've been away for awhile ...

Okay - so not really.  I have just been more involved with my Facebook than my Blog.  That really isn't saying much, though, because I don't spend a lot of time posting things there either.  However - I've officially posted London on the Blog and I will be updating more and more so as to keep up with the Johnson's.  He he he.

Stadium of Fire is quickly becoming a tradition for me, thanks to the Daily Herald. This year was much better than last -- it was a shame I couldn't take all the family this time. Shedaisy was the first concert; I'm not a huge country music fan, but it wasn't too horrible. :) Jonas Brothers were actually FANTASTIC,believe it or not. The music was great, the screaming teenage girls were hilarious (okay - I joined in a bit too), and the Jo Bro's played to the crowd very well. The fireworks are always good, but this year they retired the huge flag in this photo. The flag burning ceremony was quite good and any pyro's dream come true. The post show included ice cream, which was awesome. It made waiting for traffic to thin out that much more enjoyable. I made it home by 2AM and was VERY glad that church wasn't until 1:00 on Sunday.

She's Kicking!!!

I love this photo! It truly captures how I feel about Lyns and my niece - I almost look giddy. This is how I spend most of my time with Lynsee. I love being the "favorite aunt" and I can't wait for another niece to spoil. I can't believe my baby sister is having a baby of her own! She will be a great mom - I am so proud of her! I'm glad she and Aimee have gone ahead of me on this particular milestone in life - and when it's finally my turn, I will be calling both of them for support and advice. Lynsee has been great about letting me live vicariously through her. She's very tolerant of me and my poking and prodding. I talk and sing to her belly from time to time, too. That baby absolutely has to know my voice so that when she is finally here, she will know me well. Aimee might actually be a wee bit glad that I'll have another baby to claim as mine -- but no worries, I will always have time for all of my angels.
